UCLA is Hiring an Education/Outreach Coordinatior Near Los Angeles, CA

The Education/Outreach Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting the UCLA Labor Center's Nonviolence Education Project and workplace education programs. With a primary focus on engaging students, teachers, school administrators, community groups, unions, and other stakeholders, the Education/Outreach Coordinator is responsible for leading efforts of disseminating the nonviolence curriculum to California public schools, community colleges and more. With an initial focus on the Los Angeles area, the project aims to have statewide impact. Experience with students as an educator/instructor, also with partnerships and outreach to expand the reach of educational program; collaborate with stakeholders to advocate for nonviolence education and foster partnerships with schools, community organizations, and other entities. Other instructional efforts include designing curriculum lessons/materials, facilitating workshops and presentations, and conducting outreach to high schools, community colleges, and universities across California. The Education/Outreach Coordinator collaborates closely with the UCLA Labor Center team, project manager, and consultant-instructors to assess educational needs, develop strategic plans, and represent the organization in local, state, and national forums. With a strong commitment to social justice and equity, the Education/Outreach Coordinator embodies the values of nonviolence, empathy, and community engagement in all aspects of their work.

Required/Preferred
Advanced degree in Education, Ethnic Studies or a related field OR five years equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required
Minimum of 5 years of experience as an educator in classroom settings, with a demonstrated track record of successful teaching and curriculum development.
Required
Working knowledge and experience in educational program development and implementation.
Required
Strong understanding of educational principles and best practices, with the ability to apply innovative and engaging teaching methodologies to diverse learner populations.
Required
Working knowledge of adult education principles and education programs with a focus on health and safety and social justice for all students and workers.
Required
Ability to plan projects, develop work plans and timelines, and support a team in timely completion of project objectives.
Required
Experience conducting needs assessment and program evaluation activities.
Required
Experience developing curricula, educational materials, and/or training activities for adult learners.
Required
Experience facilitating training sessions and/or teaching through in-person or online means.
Required
Ability to synthesize and communicate technical, scientific, and/or policy information for lay audiences.
Required
Ability to communicate clearly, orally and in writing, with school district and government agency representatives, workers, unions, community-based organizations, and general public.
Required
Experience engaging with low-income students, low-wage workers, immigrant communities, and/or other underserved populations.
Required
Experience collaborating with diverse partner organizations, including school districts, labor unions and/or community-based organizations.
Preferred
Experience independently identifying funding opportunities and contributing to grant proposals.

Experience completing progress reports and complying with other funder reporting requirements.

Ability to work independently to complete tasks with minimal oversight, and to make decisions independently.
