U.S. Travel Association is Hiring a Project Manager, Technology Support Near Washington, DC

The role of the Project Manager, Technology Support involves overseeing various aspects of our association's websites and assisting the Operations team in adopting and troubleshooting technology tools within the office. Responsibilities include ensuring U.S. Travel’s websites remain valuable resources for members and stakeholders. The Project Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive website enhancements, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure timely updates. Additionally, they will assist and collaborate on other technology initiatives, including Sharepoint, supporting our in-house technical support and more. This position offers the opportunity to play a pivotal role in enhancing our online presence and assisting in the adoption and use of technology tools internally while serving as an integral part of the Operations department.

Responsibilities:

  1. Website Management:
    • Assist with the planning, development and execution of website initiatives in alignment with organizational goals.
    • In coordination with the Manager of Digital Communications, ensure the website reflects current information, resources and branding, maintaining a consistent and engaging user experience.
    • Monitor website performance metrics, analyze user behavior and identify opportunities for improvement. Produce reports for all websites monthly and as requested.
    • Train and orient new and existing staff on maintaining the U.S. Travel family of websites including sharing tools and resources on best practices for content development, naming conventions and image sizing.
  2. Technical Troubleshooting:
    • Act as the first point of contact to diagnose, resolve and/or escalate technical issues related to the website, working closely with IT and web development teams.
    • Coordinate and communicate technical updates, changes and maintenance to relevant stakeholders.
    • Coordinate with the Technology Manager, web development or IT as needed to maintain and support website integrations.
  3. Project Leadership:
    • Define project scopes, objectives and deliverables while managing project timelines and resources effectively.
    • Accurately capture requirements from non-technical users and translate them into more technical requirements for web development teams.
    • Facilitate collaboration among cross-functional teams including design, development, marketing and communications.
    • Develop user facing technical documentation in collaboration with web development and IT to support the necessary understanding of technical and non-technical teams.
  4. User Experience Enhancement:
    • Continuously assess and improve the website's user experience, ensuring intuitive navigation and accessibility for diverse audiences.
    • Implement best practices in web design and user interface to optimize engagement and conversion.
  5. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Act as the primary point of contact for technology-related inquiries, feedback and suggestions from internal teams, members and users.
    • Gather and incorporate stakeholder input to inform improvements.

Education, Experience and Skills: 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or related field.
  • Proven experience (3 years) in project management, preferably in website development, content management or digital marketing.
  • Strong understanding of web technologies, CMS platforms and basic HTML/CSS.
  • Experience with Sharepoint and the O365 suite of tools.
  • Experience with analytics tools including knowledge of GA-4.
  • Proficiency in data analysis to drive informed decisions for website enhancements.

Other: 

  • Position based in Washington, DC. U.S. Travel staff work in the office Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
