The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists is Hiring a Senior Technology Project Manager Near Washington, DC

Overview:

As the Senior Technology Project Manager , you will oversee exciting initiatives supporting both internal staff and our members. In this role, you will manage full-scale projects from ideation to launch, guiding cross-functional teams to bring innovative solutions to life. You will take the lead on defining project roadmaps, schedules, resources, and success metrics to optimize outcomes. You will work closely with our talented IT team, executive leadership, and external partners to drive projects forward. This is a collaborative, fast-paced environment for someone passionate about leveraging technology to create positive change. As our Senior Tech PM, you will mentor junior team members while shaping processes that allow ACOG to nimbly respond to emerging needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Project Oversight: Oversee multiple complex and multifaceted internal and external-facing high-profile projects simultaneously, including defining project scopes, setting realistic timelines, and managing resources effectively.
  • Process Definition and Optimization: Define, improve, and implement project management processes, methodologies, and best practices across the organization to improve project delivery efficiency and quality. Ensure adherence to established processes.
  • Data-Driven Decision-Making: Utilize data-driven insights to guide project direction, define success metrics, and optimize project outcomes.
  • Strategic Leadership: Provide leadership, direction, and management of staff, including fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment though supervising staff, providing feedback, coaching, support, mentoring, performance management, and training and development opportunities as appropriate.
  • Technical Expertise: Conduct in-depth analysis and problem-solving exercises to identify innovative solutions, leveraging data-driven insights to address complex challenges and drive project success. Contribute to buy vs. build decisions.
  • Portfolio Oversight: Track and manage projects across the Information Technology project portfolio, defining success metrics and refining processes for optimal efficiency.
  • Collaborative Approach: Foster a collaborative environment using agile development methodologies, facilitating seamless coordination between cross-functional teams to ensure timely project delivery and quality results ensuring seamless collaboration with business analysts, software developers, product owners and stakeholders. Establish, manage, and maintain vendor relationships.
  • Technical Expertise: Utilize deep technical knowledge to guide teams, solve complex technical challenges, and make informed decisions when necessary. Commit to staying abreast of emerging trends and technologies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in a technical field of studies required.
  • 7 years of technology project management experience, including managing project managers and defining and improving project management processes.
  • PMP and PMI-ACP, CSM or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and lead teams effectively.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage effectively with senior-level stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in modern software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
  • A track record of leveraging data analytics and metrics to inform project decisions and drive continuous improvement.
  • Experience in fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration within software development teams, leading to impactful and measurable results.
  • Experience in employing analytical thinking to navigate complexities and find effective solutions in software development environments.
  • A proactive approach to identifying potential roadblocks and providing strategic solutions through critical analysis and problem-solving.
