POSITION OVERVIEW: Serve as in-house counsel in a low drama and collegial office at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce providing legal advice to a broad range of Chamber executives and employees. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide legal advice to Chamber executives and employees in the areas of federal and state election laws, federal and state lobbying and gift rules compliance, human resources legal issues, and data privacy law, among others. REQUIREMENTS: Juris Doctor degree with strong academic performance during law school and 5 years’ legal experience. Demonstrated managerial aptitude and excellent client relations. Ability to oversee the work of law firm partners and associates. Strong legal research and analytical skills. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple matters for multiple clients and set and adjust priorities. Mature judgment and able to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Membership in good standing in, or eligibility to waive into, the District of Columbia Bar. Previous in-house legal experience a plus.
