Lead Project Manager (Electrical, Technical, or Engineering Exp. Req.) Description
Our client in the Transformer industry is looking for a Lead Project Manager to add to their growing team just southwest of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will oversee four Project Managers (80%), and also be responsible for a handful of your own large-scale projects from inception through installation. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical aptitude, proven experience in planning and project management and can leverage this skillset to provide guidance and leadership to their team. To be successful, you must have excellent managerial skills, strong written/verbal communication abilities, and be highly organized while successfully overseeing multiple projects. Lead Project Manager (Electrical, Technical, or Engineering Exp. Req.) Responsibilities
• Oversee and provide guidance to a team of 4 Project Managers
• Determine project assignments based on customer relationships, priority, & capacity
• Coordinate internal/external resources to execute projects on time, within scope & on budget
• Interface with internal teams (Engineering, Quality, Production…) to address project needs
• Set project deadlines, assign responsibilities, and regularly provide updates
• Monitor client schedules and ensure internal production plans align with requirements
• Support Project Managers with complex customer needs and relations
• Prepare reports for upper management regarding project status
• Track and communicate production schedules and changes
• Work internally to resolve technical and commercial issues; communicate resolutions
• Act as the face of the company to assigned accounts & build lasting business relationships
• Host visiting clients with factory tours and business lunches/dinners as needed
• Complete annual performance reviews for all team members
Lead Project Manager (Electrical, Technical, or Engineering Exp. Req.) Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree is required
• 5 years of project management experience, managing multiple projects, is required
• Prior team lead or management experience is required
• Experience working in the electrical, power, engineering, and/or circuit breaker industry is required
• Ability to work 100% on-site is required
• Ability to travel 4-6 times per year to visit key customers is required (trip duration = 1 day)
