Job Description:

The Maintenance Technician is a vital role in ensuring the proper functioning and upkeep of a facility or property. This position involves a variety of tasks, including performing repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting for building systems and equipment. The Maintenance Technician works closely with the maintenance team, supervisors, and other departments to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for residents, guests, or employees.

Responsibilities:

Conduct routine inspections of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical, to identify and address maintenance issues or potential problems.

Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as lubricating equipment, replacing filters, and inspecting fire safety systems, to ensure optimal performance and longevity of assets.

Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner, troubleshooting issues and making necessary repairs to minimize disruption and maintain a safe environment.

Repair and maintain mechanical equipment, such as pumps, motors, and HVAC systems, to ensure efficient operation and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

Perform minor carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs as needed.

Assist in the planning and execution of larger maintenance projects, collaborating with supervisors and contractors as required.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment inventory, and repairs performed.

Follow established safety protocols and procedures, using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, and reporting any potential safety hazards.

Assist with maintaining inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, notifying the supervisor of any reordering needs.

Stay updated on building codes, regulations, and industry best practices related to maintenance and incorporate them into daily work activities.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or a similar role.

Strong knowledge of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical.

Proficient in using hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and blueprints.

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and repair various types of equipment and systems.

Good communication and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments.

Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring high-quality work and exceptional customer service.

Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and perform duties that may involve standing, bending, and reaching for extended periods.

Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication purposes.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 50 per week
