TriSource is Hiring a Medical Biller Near Washington, DC
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Biller to work for a well-known nonprofit in the Washington, DC area. Position is a temporary assignment for about 3-4 months, potentially longer.
Schedule is HYBRID, Monday-Friday business hours.
You will be responsible for accurately coding and billing medical procedures and services.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze medical records to identify appropriate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services
- Enter coded information into billing software or electronic health records system
- Submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve billing discrepancies or issues
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines and regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate documentation of services rendered
- Assist with patient inquiries regarding billing and insurance coverage
Qualifications:
- Associates degree minimum with 1-2yrs experience
- Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting
- Proficiency in medical coding systems such as ICD-9 and ICD-10
- Familiarity with medical billing systems and software
