Job Description: Kitchen Manager

Responsibilities:

  1. Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation through regular inspections and training of kitchen staff.
  2. Overseeing Daily Operations: Supervise all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and cleaning, to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.
  3. Menu Planning and Development: Collaborate with executive chef to create and update menus, considering factors such as seasonality, cost, and customer preferences.
  4. Purchasing and Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of food and kitchen supplies, place orders as needed, and ensure proper storage to minimize waste and maintain quality.
  5. Staff Supervision: Recruit, train, and schedule kitchen staff, including cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers. Provide guidance and support to promote teamwork and high performance. Manage onsite Human Resources functions for all kitchen staff.
  6. Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including food handling procedures, sanitation practices, and kitchen cleanliness.
  7. Cost Control: Monitor food and labor costs, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to maximize profitability while maintaining quality standards.

Qualifications:

  1. Experience: Proven experience in a kitchen management role, with a strong background in food preparation and culinary techniques.
  2. Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
  3. Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  4. Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations, kitchen equipment, and industry best practices.
  5. Problem-Solving Abilities: Effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly address issues as they arise and implement practical solutions.

Communication Skills: Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with staff, management, and suppliers effectively
