Tri Pointe Homes is looking for an experienced individual to join our talented group as a Business Systems Analyst.

Position Highlights: The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) provides enterprise-wide support for TRI Pointe Group JD Edwards application for the Finance, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Job Cost modules. The BSA is the first line of support for end-users and the company’s foremost expert on JDE Finance/Accounting functionality and associated business processes. The BSA partners with IT Systems Analysts on the resolution of system issues, development of ad hoc reports, evaluation of enhancement requests and identification of solution options in JD Edwards. The BSA works closely with business process owners, subject matter experts (SME’s), IT resources and third-party consultants to resolve issues and meet ongoing business needs. The Finance/Accounting BSA is responsible for ensuring consistent standards for project management are applied across the organization. The BSA acts as a business partner to job site and Business Unit operations staff and provides the support and education necessary to ensure timely and accurate job cost actuals, estimate at completion and revenue recognition. The Finance/Accounting BSA leads process design reviews with business owners and SME’s to develop solutions that improve operating efficiencies and optimize the use of JD Edwards. The BSA prepares functional specs for any custom development and tests and approves system changes for his/her functional area. The role is also responsible for maintaining and developing new educational materials and providing end-user training for the JD Edwards software and associated business process.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Build the capabilities of end-users to Finance, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Job Cost functions in the JD Edwards system in an efficient, accurate and rigorous manner. Develop reference materials and provide training that establishes the required initial user acumen and can be leveraged for ongoing educational needs.
  • Provide end-user support as the escalation point for “Tier 2” help request. Prioritize and resolve system issues. Partner with business process owners to identify and prioritize future enhancement requests.
  • Document functional specifications for any custom development, enhancements.
  • Document test plans, test scripts and all relevant documentations to support change management process.
  • Develop and maintain educational materials and provide end-user training for the JD Edwards software and associated business process.
  • Work collaboratively with job site, Accounting, Operations and other business partners to gather requirements and design business processes and operational reports in support of the Finance, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Job Cost modules.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes leveraging the JD Edwards software. Implement processes that are accurate, streamlined, and well documented with an emphasis on delivering timely and accurate Job Cost results.
  • Develop ad hoc and custom reports using ReportsNow, FRW, and other JD Edwards report development tools. Deliver reports that help optimize business performance, support internal controls and codify high leverage performance metrics.
  • Partner with other IT and Functional Business Systems Analysts on the integration of Accounting with other modules, including Job Cost, Procurement, and Home Building.
  • Build the capabilities of end-users to access and use the data in a rigorous manner that is foundational to sound decision-making and ongoing reporting accuracy.
  • Document key internal controls related to JD Edwards for SOX compliance. Partner with business process owners to identify, document and operationalize any required compensating controls in support of the JD Edwards system.
  • Develop in-depth business knowledge of the company’s processes and interaction with systems
  • Function as a subject matter expert in the Construction Payables Process and related applications. Provide references for users by writing and maintaining documentation
  • Work closely with end-users to gather requirements for system enhancements and translate business requirements into functional specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and investigate application/process problems
  • Provide assistance and advice to business users in the effective use of applications and information technology
  • Maintain security documents related to Sox compliance
  • Configure application security including users, roles, profiles, and other permission controls
  • Coordinate implementations, migrations (including data migrations), and upgrades
  • Coordinate test environments (if applicable)
  • Assist in project management including plan development, estimates, feasibility, coordinating and executing system projects, maintaining task lists, status updates, etc.
  • Develop and coordinate communication plan
  • Lead division implementation efforts

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or information management is required, other advanced degrees or credentials are preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of JD Edwards 9.2. Finance, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Job Cost, other modules and all JDE Edwards toolsets
  • Five to seven years of professional experience in Accounting, Project Job Cost andIT for a Fortune 1000 caliber company.
  • Hands on experience with at least one JD Edwards upgrade, system conversion for the Finance / Accounting modules.
  • Strong disposition for customer service supported by excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong listening skills.
  • Highly organized and capable of successfully advancing multiple projects at once.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work across both technical and business lines at all levels of the organization
  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision and achieve quality results
  • Proven analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base Salary: The expected base salary range for this position is between $73,300-106,700 per year, depending on experience and skillset. Base Salary is paid bi-weekly, every other Friday.
  • Bonus: This position is eligible for an annual performance-based cash bonus. Bonuses are earned, calculated and paid in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Company’s applicable incentive plan document.
