The Technical Sales Representative will maximize the sales opportunities for all the Company’s Products for a designated product group area. Consistent with the Company’s overall business objectives and good business practices, maintains and increases the Company’s sales and profitability through identifying new business opportunities. e.g. new clients and markets, for the Company’s products.

Main Duties

  • Represent Trelleborg Offshore US, Inc. as single point of contact for an assigned product group area.
  • Develop relationships with clients in defined markets and accounts to generate ongoing profitable business.
  • Identify existing RFQ within known markets and identify new business opportunities that align with Trelleborg’s core competences within defined accounts.
  • Liaise and coordinate sales activities as required with other Trelleborg personnel.
  • Track and report on competitors within defined markets.
  • Work with clients to define terms & conditions of sale, non-disclosures & legal documents.
  • Visit with existing customers, make ontact with potential new customers and clearly document all such contacts.
  • Travel as required to secure business.
  • Assist with the preparation of and attend trade exhibitions as required.
  • Assist and support the Business Unit with the preparation of press releases and promotional material for the Company’s products.
  • Deliver presentations as necessary to clients, Management team
  • Assist as requested other sales personnel and Business Units according to the needs of the business.
  • Follow up with clients on completed projects to document client satisfaction and ensure a system of continuous improvement.
  • Ensures a continuous improvement in both personal and staff's level of knowledge and expertise in relevant industry developments so as to maintain the Company’s reputation and position in its field.
  • Gather and report on market data and trends to prepare sales forecasts

  • Established relationships of working with Subsea, Oceanographic, Composites, Motor sport, aerospace & defense companies.
  • Proven track record of long-term relationship and technical selling
  • Some college or technical background would be preferred.
  • Subsea, Oceanographic, Composites, Motor sport, Aerospace industry background with some manufacturing industry experience
  • Experience working with distributors and manufacturers’ reps desired
  • Any polymer or composites product exposure will be preferred but not required
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time.
