    Job Summary:
    The Human Resources Manager plays a pivotal role in fostering a positive and supportive work environment within Township High School District 113, which consists of two high schools, Deerfield High School and Highland Park High School. This position is responsible for assisting the Chief Human Resources Officer in overseeing all aspects of human resources management, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance with relevant state and federal regulations. The Human Resources Manager collaborates with school administrators to ensure the district attracts, develops, and retains top talent to support its educational mission.
    Responsibilities and Duties:
    Strategic HR Leadership:
    • Develop and implement human resources strategies aligned with the district's goals and objectives.
    • Provide guidance and support to school administrators on HR-related matters.
    • Anticipate and address future HR needs to support the district's long-term success.
    • Assist in managing day-to-day operations of the HR office and coordinate workflow.
    Recruitment and Staffing:
    • Assist with recruitment efforts to attract qualified candidates for all positions within the district.
    • Assist in the development of recruitment strategies to ensure diversity and inclusivity in hiring practices.
    • Help oversee the selection process, including screening applications, conducting interviews, and making hiring recommendations.
    • Help facilitate onboarding and hiring of new staff
    Employee Relations:
    • Serve as a trusted advisor and mediator in resolving employee relations issues.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to promote a positive work environment.
    • Conduct investigations into complaints of discrimination, harassment, or other misconduct.
    • Manage sensitive personnel information.
    Benefits Administration:
    • Assist in the administration of employee benefits programs and educate employees about available benefits.
    • Stay current on industry trends and best practices in benefits administration.
    Compliance and Legal Affairs:
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations
    • Help develop and maintain policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks.
    • Keep abreast of changes in employment law and update policies accordingly.
    • Assist with State and Federal reporting.
    Performance Management:
    • Assist in the oversight of performance management processes and provide training to supervisors.
    • Identify opportunities for employee growth and development.
    HR Administration:
    • Assist in the management of HRIS to maintain accurate employee records and oversee payroll administration.
    • Support the management of the HR budget and resources.
    • Co-lead the department in refining systems and procedures to meet the needs of staff and community.
    • Collaborate on equity initiatives and perform other tasks assigned by the Chief Human Resources Officer.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
    • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or pHCLE certification preferred.
    • Minimum 5 years of HR management experience, preferably in K-12 education.
    • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in HRIS, Google Office Suite, Skyward (or similar system), Frontline (or similar system).
