Your Opportunity:The Herff Jones Production and Operations Team is looking for a Production Manager to join our HJ Family.
This is a regular, fulltime salary (exempt) position with benefit eligibility including, medical, dental, vision, life, 401(k), paid time off, and additional voluntary benefits.

What We Want You To Accomplish:- Learn all product lines and production processes.
- Understanding process flow and all policies and procedures.
- Coordinate the daily activities of the production, quality, and safety teams in your department.
- Facilitate and manage the design of operational processes for new initiatives, workflow changes, and new systems. Develop project map and timelines.
- Manage the engagement in reducing quality remakes to less than 1%.
- Drive on time delivery to 99%.
- Delegate assignments to appropriate teams and personnel.
- Ensure high level plans are being executed as they relate to the department and overall company goals.
What You’ll Be Doing On A Daily Basis:- Analyze production schedules and estimate employee hour requirements and establish or adjust work procedures to meet production standards.
- Direct Production Supervisors and Group Leads in your department to optimize efficiency and hit production, quality, and safety goals.
- Driving a Lean Manufacturing mindset for all operations.
- Manage department level budgets as well as performance against quality and safety targets.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring To The Table:- Previous success leading lean operations to include training and coaching front line associates.
- Demonstrate ability to lead a mid-size manufacturing facility operation on two shifts with seasonal production flow.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, conduct detailed staffing analysis and implement new programs in a manufacturing environment emphasizing safety and quality in everything we do.
- Multiple examples of lean projects and initiates successfully executed with measurable cost and time savings.
- Outstanding decision-making skills and ability to work well with numbers.
- Significant experience in collecting and analyzing data.
- Excellent leadership capabilities and communication skills.
- Well organized and detail oriented.
- A strong sense of urgency and desire to exceed customer expectations.
- Ability to maintain positive attitude in fast-paced environment.
Education / Certifications Required:- Highschool or GED (Bachelor’s Degree is a plus)
- Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
- 5 years of manufacturing management experience.
Physical Activities:Daily activity includes but is not limited to:- Lifting, carrying, sitting, fingering, grasping, reaching, standing, kneeling, and walking long distances.
- Reading, communication, basic math.
- Be able to regularly lift, push, and pull up to 50lbs.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to above.
