Position Title: Barista

POSITION SUMMARY

Baristas are responsible for making quality beverages, generally specialty hot drinks, preparing food orders, and cleaning and stocking the store. Baristas must do all of these tasks quickly and efficiently while also making sure to form good customer relationships.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and serve coffee and tea drinks that meet quality standards
• Properly handle and maintain all equipment
• Respond to orders, questions, concerns, and complaints in a polite and efficient manner
• Serve customers quickly and efficiently
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all the menu offerings
• Observe relevant health and safety standards

Healthy and Safety

• Ensure that all potential and real Hazards are reported immediately and rectified
• Be fully conversant with all departmental Fire and Emergency procedures
• Ensure that all emergency procedures are rehearsed, implemented, and enforced to provide for the security and safety of guests and employees
• Ensure all staff within the department work in a manner which is safe and unlikely to give risk of harm or injury to selves or others.

EDUCATION

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent

CERTIFICATIONS, Licenses, and Registrations

• Current SERVSAFE Certification

WORK EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience working in the hospitality industry.
