*This position utilizes a hybrid (remote and in-office work) schedule and will require overtime as needed. This position participates in a rotating on-call schedule as needed. *

Position Purpose:

Performs entry level to routine desktop support work. Provides troubleshooting and technical assistance for both local and remote computer systems and users. Provides assistance or training related to computer hardware and software use; including printing, installation, word-processing, electronic mail, and operating systems. Works under close to moderate supervision, with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Answers and may coordinate user inquiries via phone or remote session regarding computer software and hardware operation to resolve problems; provides technical support using interpersonal communication techniques.
  • Uses and may maintain software tools for remote management, troubleshooting, asset management, patch management and anti-virus.
  • Participates in and may coordinate dispatch rotation for helpdesk tickets.
  • Installs and performs various repairs to hardware, software, and peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications.
  • Records and may maintain daily data communication transactions, problems, remedial action taken, and installation activities.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

  • One (1) to Three (3) years desktop support
  • College education in or technical training in computer related areas may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis. (Experience requirements may be satisfied by full-time education or the prorated part-time equivalent.)
  • Some to One (1) year Active Directory
  • Some to One (1) year Microsoft Exchange
