Tidewater Express Inc is Hiring an Accounts Payable Specialist Near Chesapeake, VA
- Review and verify invoices with charging the accounts and cost centers correctly
- Enter and set up invoices for payment
- Post transactions to journals, ledgers, and other records
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions and corporate credit card statements
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
- Research and resolve purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and/or issues
- Review month end statements from vendors and validate the invoices listed
- Maintain vendor files when necessary, including federal ID number as well as creating new vendors in system
- Assist with month end closing
- Perform daily transfer of sales activity into accounting system through computer download, this will also include verification of accuracy and completeness
- Any other duties as assigned by the Chief Admin Officer
- Must have at least 3 years accounts payable and/or other accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of industry standard accounting software programs
- Should have a “team first” attitude and maintain our team atmosphere even in stressful situations
- Must have the ability to work under pressure and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office and data entry
- Must be a detail oriented individual with excellent time management skills
- Must pass a drug screening
