thyssenkrupp nucera USA Inc. is Hiring a Project Manager (Modularization and Fabrication) Near Houston, TX

About Us:

thyssenkrupp nucera is an international, market leading supplier of electrolysis technology for hydrochloric acid recycling, chlor-alkali processes and green hydrogen generation with over 50 years’ experience and 10 GW of installed electrolysis capacity. Our goal is to help shape the new era of clean energy supply with green hydrogen at an industrial scale while continuing to maintain and grow our chemical electrolysis business.
Position Overview:
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing engineering and supply projects with a focus on modular construction methods and fabrication techniques. The Project manager shall apply specialized knowledge critical in optimizing project efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness in engineering, fabrication, and delivery of modular projects.
Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Management:

  • Responsible for execution of modular projects, including adherence to contractual requirements, budget, schedule
  • Support all phases of project from sales support, contract finalization, engineering, procurement, fabrication, delivery, installation, and commissioning.
  • Develop scope of work documents and project execution contract attachments.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans tailored to engineering projects, emphasizing modularization and fabrication strategies.
  • Lead project teams, ensuring the effective integration of modular construction methodologies.
  • Monitor and manage project schedule, risks, changes, and communication, with an emphasis on modular and fabricated solutions.

2. Procurement:

  • Collaborate with procurement and subcontract teams to select vendors and suppliers specializing in modular and fabricated components for engineering projects.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements specific to engineering projects with modular and fabricated elements.
  • Oversee procurement processes to ensure the timely acquisition of modular components and materials.
  • Monitor vendor and supplier progress.

3. Construction Management:

  • Coordinate and oversee engineering and constructability activities, particularly those involving modular and prefabricated construction methods.
  • Ensure compliance with contract and project specifications and quality standards, with an emphasis on modular and fabricated engineering elements.
  • Continuously monitor modular construction progress and take corrective actions as needed to meet project schedule.
  • Manage on-site staffing (permanent or transient) for module, fabrication facilities, and installation site as dictated by project execution plans

4. Team Leadership:

  • Build, lead, and mentor cross-functional project teams with a focus on modularization and fabrication expertise for modular projects.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages innovation and optimization in project execution.

5. Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Communicate with Clients, Internal Stakeholders, and Resource Management to provide updates on product installation progress.
  • Communicate project progress, risks, and accomplishments to stakeholders, emphasizing the advantages, key metrics, and success criteria of modular and fabricated solutions in projects.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment of project objectives and expectations within the context of engineering projects using modularization and fabrication.
  • Manage all communications in accordance with contractual requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Relevant certifications and advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Proven experience (5 years) in project management with a specialized background in modularization and fabrication in the industrial process industry.
  • Strong knowledge of modular construction methodologies, fabrication processes, and their applications in projects.
  • Strong knowledge of optimizing engineering, supply, scope, transportation, installation, and commissioning of modular construction projects.
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of project management methodology.
  • Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to adapt strategies for modular and fabricated projects.
  • Effective leadership and team management capabilities for engineering and supply contracts, with particular focus on modular and prefabricated construction applications.
  • Experience in managing global project execution, involving entities and experts from around the world, and also personnel that may be assigned to the module yard or jobsite.
  • Proficiency in project management software tools and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent oral and written interpersonal and communication skills for collaborative work with Client representatives, contractors installation teams, and stakeholders in an international business and cultural environment.
  • Business fluent in US English, both oral and written.
  • Must be able to work at heights with fall protection, climb stairs, ladders, bend, lift, stretch, stoop, push, pull, stand, and carry tools as needed to inspect machinery, equipment, piping, structures, instruments, and gauges.
  • Must be able to work at construction sites and operating industrial process plants while equipped with required PPE
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds as needed.
  • Candidates will be required to take OSHA and /or site-specific safety training and tests, candidates shall possess or be able to obtain a TWIC card.
  • Candidates must be willing and able to travel domestically, and internationally on business trip basis to support project execution.
