Aftermarket Sales Representative

Role

The Aftermarket Sales Representative is responsible for supporting and growing a portfolio of existing accounts with a focus on dealer accounts. This position involves building and maintaining strong relationships with existing dealers and dealer groups, as well as actively seeking out new business opportunities and relationships. This role also duals as the main point of contact for dealer training. This role requires an outgoing personality, the ability to train on Thetford products, a knack for problem-solving, a get-it-done attitude, and the ability to travel up to 75% of the time per month.

Job Responsibilities

  • Proactively build relationships with the dealer groups and understand their progressive future strategies; align their plans with Thetford future business strategy.
  • Learn and understand the distributor networks each dealer group leverages and ensure Thetford is well represented across those networks.
  • Conduct training sessions using a variety of instructional techniques and formats, such as classroom training, workshops, webinars, and on-the-job training.
  • Perform account support activities, working cross-functionally with distribution to ensure that customer orders are processed, dispatched, shipped, and invoiced accurately and on time.
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of administrative tasks associated with assigned accounts. Examples include processing credit memos, researching and approving chargebacks, and completing all product and pricing documentation requested by assigned accounts.
  • Develop, maintain, and grow relationships with Dealer parts and service personnel and technicians for assigned accounts providing prompt assistance and real-time solutions.
  • Acquire a comprehensive understanding of assigned accounts needs and requirements, identify opportunities to standardize or improve partnerships, and document processes related to these accounts.
  • Be a champion of the customer, communicating needs, requirements, and processes to the organization.
  • Work with product management and marketing to support sales training and communications on the technical attributes, features, and benefits of our catalog of products.
  • Collaborate with marketing to efficiently plan and execute all aspects of trade events and promotions.
  • Represent the company and our brands at trade shows and events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 5 years of B2B sales or customer service experience (RV, Marine, Commercial Truck or Outdoor industries preferred)
  • Proven track record of success in aftermarket sales, with 5 years of experience in similar roles.
  • Possess a deep understanding of the aftermarket industry and the ability to stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences.
  • Knowledge of major account selling in the Aftermarket Channel.
  • Proven experience as a trainer.
  • Proven ability to speak in front of a customer or group (presenting or training).
  • Possess excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively promote products and services, address customer needs, and close sales.
  • Previous experience with ERP systems (i.e. Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards, IFS)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Healthy sense of humor.
