The Village School is Hiring a Manager of Facilities Near Houston, TX

We are actively hiring a Manager of Facilities!

The Village School is a private college preparatory school for grades Early Childhood through High School. Our High School offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma program and boarding opportunities through the Nord Anglia Boarding program.

Major Responsibilities & Duties:

Facilities Operations

o Ensure a fully-staffed facilities team is in place that carries out all necessary facilities functions

o Develop highly effective facilities systems and internal control mechanisms for prompt work order completion and satisfaction

o Ensure facilities procedures and processes are carried out efficiently per NAE and School policies and procedures

o Oversee weekly production meetings to establish daily, weekly, and seasonal project goals

o Leads in the repair and/or installation of various items across campus as required (e.g. HVAC, floors, doors, railings, stairs, windows, roof, electrical, plumbing, grounds, elevator R&M, custodial, lighting, painting, event set up, moving, assembly, locksmith, Life Safety, etc.)

o Manage Third party vendors

o Respond to Emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns

Internal Reporting

o APR and Performance goals for all staff and vendors

o Risk assessment and other safety reports per NAE guidelines

External Reporting

o Ensure records maintained to include MSDS sheets, OSHA, City Permits and inspections

o Produce all safety and facility reports as required for NAE, external auditing and other external bodies

Other Facilities

o Provide hands on backup details as needed in any facilities function

o Life Safety organization via third party vendors including city permits

o Oversee vehicle maintenance and repair to include records

o Maintain detailed asset inventory of equipment, supplies, and tools

Staff Management

o Recruit and retain facilities staff that are high-caliber and dedicated and productive

o Develop a strong team ethos

o Ensure excellent on-the-job training and development of staff

Personal Development

o Ensure continual development through the identification and implementation of your own personal development plan

OTHER CONDITIONS:

● Each individual must ensure that they meet their statutory responsibilities and Company policies with regard to Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities and other relevant legislation

● A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils

● Willingness to undertake appropriate child protection training when required

QUALIFICATIONS / TRAINING:

● Bachelor's Degree preferred

● Minimum 5 years working in facilities management

EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE:

● Proven track record with at least five years in a facilities function

● General facilities knowledge to include but not limited to ADA, OSHA, LEED, APPA standards

● Experience with MEP, Life Safety, Carpentry and Painting functions in facilities management
