About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Assignment Length: 6 months
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 9am to 5pm (1 hour lunch)
The Medical Assistant (MA) will:
- Schedule and confirm patients appointments
- Register patients. check eligibility, and obtain authorizations and referrals
- Ensure all required forms are present in patients chart (EMR)
- Schedule appointments using SCI System
- Answer telephones, route calls, take messages and provide routine information to callers
- Prepare patient for medical examinations
- Maintain and clean equipment, checking that equipment is working properly
- Maintain adequate inventory of medical supplies and make sure exam rooms are stocked with all necessary items
- Perform other job-related duties, as required
- 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant (MA)
- High School Diploma / GED
- Completion of a Medical Assistant (MA)
- NYS Medical Assistant (MA) certification
- Bilingual (English and Cantonese or Mandarin)
- Computer savvy (30 wpm)
- Knowledge of Medical terminology
- Microsoft Office proficient (Word, Excel)
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
- Experience with Stress Testing
