Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join a new small primary care office in Bay Ridge. I am looking for someone who is comfortable with the duties of a medical assistant and receptionist, as the office is just starting up. You will work closely with one physician as we build patient volume over the next few months.

Duties:
- Assist healthcare professionals with patient examinations and procedures
- Take patient vital signs, record medical history, and update patient charts
- Administer medications, including inhalation medications, as directed by healthcare providers
- Perform basic life support measures when necessary
- Provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records

-Front desk/receptionist duties including verifying insurance and welcoming the patient

- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and equipment
- Educate patients on proper self-care techniques and medication administration

Requirements:
- Medical Assistant certification or diploma from an accredited program
- Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and coding
- Strong knowledge of medication administration procedures, including inhalation medications, drawing blood
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to provide compassionate care
- comfortable with front desk duties including verifying insurance for patients

-Tebra EMR knowledge preferred but not required

- Basic life support certification preferred
