Medical Assistant Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepares patients for examination and treatment by escorting them from the waiting area to the exam room.
• Takes vital signs, height and weight, and properly documents it in the chart.
• Maintains the exam room between patient use to ensure readiness for the next patient and physician.
• Prepares and cleans and maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; and ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained.
• Draws blood, performs EKGs, assists with collection of specimens and processes them in Ezra Medical’s Laboratory as needed; provides other patient care services as directed by provider within scope of practice.
• Assists with answering telephone calls, taking the appropriate measures, or if needed, delegating it to a nurse or provider.
• Performs other related work as required

Medical Assistant Minimum Requirements:

• Current Medical Assistant Certification
• GED or high school diploma
• Sunday and evening availability
• Good people skills and understanding of basic professional standards

Medical Assistant Preferred Qualifications:

• Associates degree in Medical Assisting
• 2 years of experience working with pediatric as well as adult populations
• Superb professional as well as interpersonal skills
