Title: SeniorManager of People Operations

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Location: Washington, D.C. - Hybrid

Status: Full-time; Exempt

Salary: $75k -$85k Annually

Position Summary:As an integral part of our Operations team, the Senior Manager of People Operations plays a vital role in fostering a positive work environment and supporting our staff. Your responsibilities will encompass all aspects of HR operations, from recruitment and onboarding to performance management and employee relations. Additionally, you will contribute significantly to initiatives aimed at cultivating a positive and inclusive workplace culture, actively engaging with employees, and fostering a sense of belonging among our diverse team.

 

As the Senior Manager of People Operations, you will:

Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Coordinate recruitment, hiring, and onboarding support efforts across all departments 
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on The Hub applicant tracking system. (Jazz HR)

Performance Management & Talent Strategy Development

  • Aid in the development and execution of talent strategies that align with the values of The Hub.
  • Support managers in implementing performance management and recognition practices.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on The Hub employee engagement and performance management platform. (Lattice)

Employee Support & Labor Relations:

  • Provide guidance and support to address HR & benefits questions and issues in consultation with New Venture Fund (NVF) HR team.
  • Provide support for labor relations, including assisting with the implementation and administration of collective bargaining agreements.
  • Offer guidance to leadership and union representatives to ensure compliance with the collective bargaining agreement.

Culture Building & Engagement

  • Organize and facilitate culture-building activities.
  • Establish and maintain an engagement and feedback framework to enhance the employee experience.
  • Facilitate the creation and implementation of a culture action plan to enable Hub leadership to meaningfully and effectively address employee feedback.

Project Management:

  • Coordinate various HR-related projects, including data management, training, and timekeeping.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging:

  • Identify and recommend improvements to internal procedures to promote equity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement initiatives to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring all employees feel valued, respected, and empowered.
 

About you:

  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Dedication to advancing a just and inclusive economy and strengthening democracy.
  • Experience integrating the perspectives of marginalized communities into decision-making processes.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
  • At least four years of knowledge and experience in HR, operations, or related competencies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or G Suite applications.
  • Familiarity with Jazz HR or similar recruitment software ( or willingness to learn).

BenefitsComprehensive benefits package that includes 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance for employees (and their families). Employees are able to enroll in 401k retirement plan and are eligible for a 3% automatic contribution and up to a 3% employer match on 401k contributions. Employees are also eligible for pre-tax transportation benefits. Employees will receive 120 hours of vacation time, 80 hours of health leave, up to 2 days of casual leave, and 20 hours of volunteer leave annually. Employees will also receive 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are eligible for 12 weeks of paid family and medical leave after 90 days of employment.
