CHCI is Hiring a Senior Manager, Stewardship and Development Operations Near Washington, DC

TITLE:Senior Manager, Stewardship and Development Operations

REPORTS TO:Vice President, Development and Corporate Relations 

LOCATION: Hybrid in Washington, DC

SUMMARY

The Senior Manager contributes to the continued stewardship and expansion of CHCI’s donor program by developing effective benefit fulfillment strategies to maintain and grow long-term relationships with CHCI’s donors. This team member will also lead the Development team’s systems for revenue tracking and develop compelling fundraising collateral. In collaboration with the Development Support Associate, the Senior Manager will also lead on all IT systems, including Salesforce, and will support the team in ensuring the appropriate systems and assigned responsibilities among the team are in place so that all donor and revenue data is responsively and accurately captured. The role will also require contributing to CHCI’s funding base by managing a portfolio of 35 accounts including support of multi-year accounts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Partner Relations and Donor Stewardship

  • Serve as a partner to all frontline fundraisers to better support corporations, foundations, trade associations, unions, and nonprofit organizations whose mission aligns with CHCI, with the goal of raising revenue for CHCI while at the same time helping funding partners meet their goals.
  • Responsible for stewardship program of major donors overseeing and verifying centralized benefit fulfillment across departments and updating all donor lists.
  • Identifying and researching prospects locally, nationally, and globally who can be cultivated to support the organization with unrestricted, programmatic, and or event sponsorship gifts.
  • Maintain up-to-date organizational, program and convening impact data to inform collateral, outreach campaigns, and stewardship program.
  • Support timely submission of concept notes, proposals, grants, and reports.

Serve as Revenue and IT Systems Lead

  • Work closely with department’s Vice President to ensure that all donor and revenue data is responsively and accurately captured, including leading on the development, execution, and close management of revenue tracking systems and IT systems (to include Salesforce)
  • Support the team and ensure roles and responsibilities are distributed among the Development team to ensure team collaboration.
  • Produce regular revenue reports for team and organizational leadership to update and inform effective fundraising strategy.
  • Serve as the team’s primary liaison to the finance department and ensure accurate cross-departmental tracking of received funds.
  • Oversee tracking of multi-year programming and deferred funding to support leadership financial planning.
  • Lead on building frameworks for data-driven reporting and forecasting that meet the needs of the team and allows for insight into revenue challenges and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Development Support Associate to support accurately tracking and managing revenue data, donor data, and sponsor benefits and deliverables.

Fundraising Strategy and External Representation

  • Oversee donor collateral, outreach materials, sponsorship prospectus and donor circles for strategic funding partners.
  • Help develop content for CHCI convenings on policy issues and other developments that impact the Latinx community and the nation and provide input as needed for all convenings with the goal of sustaining them and raising revenue.
  • Represent CHCI and attend external engagement activities and meetings that can help strengthen CHCI’s relationships with current mission partners and prospects.
  • Support the Vice President of Development and Corporate Relations and serve as a thought partner in special projects and other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience and/or education
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to center donors within Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and outreach plans.
  • Data reporting with large datasets and analyzing trends to inform leadership decisions.
  • Virtual presentation skills
  • Have a mindset of continuous process improvement with experience generating Standard Operating Procedures and Training Guides.
  • Ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Be flexible and have a positive attitude and willingness to step in where needed.
  • Commitment to the mission of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute

Preferred:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Google Suite, and web-based platforms.
  • Experience with Salesforce, or a CRM/donor database.
  • Experience in fundraising systems and workflows.
