We are seeking a Entertainment & Events Assistant for Dollywood Resorts who will embody the heart and soul of our mission of creating memories worth repeating while caring deeply about our brand.

We want to work alongside someone who acts as an extension of our mission, values, and culture. This individual is driven to create meaningful experiences for our hosts, guests, and community while ensuring the success and profitability of our unique offerings. They also bring fun, authenticity, collaboration, creativity, and genuine hospitality to their life and work. We seek an individual who can bring the vision of the resorts to life. The right Entertainment & Events Assistant checklist will include equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, detail driver, mentor, and motivator.

Summary of Essential Functions and Responsibilities 

  • Provide production support for special events, festivals and entertainment productions.
  • Assist in special projects as assigned.
  • Advancing of specialty acts.
  • Coordinate scheduling for roving performers.
  • Coordinating hotel bookings.
  • Coordinating receiving and submitting of check requests.
  • Helps to provide assistance and support to the Entertainment Management team members.
  • May be asked to assist in any auditions, local or out of town.
  • Provide assistance in coordination of projects involving both the Entertainment and other operating divisions.
  • Help to resolve employee conflicts and complaints.
  • Help develop systems and procedures designed to improve efficiency in Entertainment management and operations.
  • Serve as liaison for Dollywood Theme Park during Special concerts and festivals advancing period.
  • Maintain a friendly and cooperative atmosphere of openness, participation, caring, appreciation and flexible leadership that invites Hosts to do their best.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Initiate and foster a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
  • Create a positive first and last impression for Park visitors through Guest service, friendliness and attention to detail within all areas of responsibility.
  • Be knowledgeable of Park (i.e., locations of buildings, services available, restaurant menus, show schedules, special events).
  • Answer questions from Guests and inform them of Park events, areas of interest, and Park information.
  • Monitor total park operations and solve issues as Entertainment PIC.
  • Communicate division and company information on a daily basis to Hosts, if needed.
  • Authorized P-Card holder to be used in accordance to policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Assist in archiving for BMI.

Management reserves the right to change and/or add to these duties.

Education and Experience Required

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, some college preferred.
  • Three (3) years of experience working in a similar capacity in the Entertainment industry.
  • Working knowledge of P&L budgets, overall budgeting, forecasting and scheduling preferred.
  • A proven track record of successful project management.
  • Intermediate computer experience with working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint software.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with proof of auto liability insurance.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment offer background check.

  • Must have the ability to supervise others and provide motivation and leadership.

  • Able to maintain dependable work attendance and flexibility with assigned work schedules including any required overtime, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Able to be flexible to handle frequent changes in priorities.
  • Able to tolerate a fast-paced, hectic environment.
  • Able to prioritize tasks and complete assignments on time.
  • Able to tolerate temperatures of0 to 110 degrees.
  • Able to work outdoors.
  • Able to operate/drive company vehicles.
  • Able to travel.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull, or help lift, carry, push and pull items up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to hear, see and speak.
  • Able to speak, read and write in English.
  • Able to smile and make eye contact to make a friendly impression when greeting guests, vendors and other employees.
  • Must have manual dexterity necessary to complete all job duties.
  • Able to sit and/or stand for long/short periods.
  • Able to get along with other employees to work out problems and resolve conflicts.
  • Able to comprehend instructions and retain information.
