Payroll Manager
The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the payroll team. This role is a key business partner with other functions to drive improvements to ensure scalability as the business continues to grow, while also ensuring an exceptional employee experience. The Payroll Manager will ensure accurate and timely processing of employee payroll, compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and maintain payroll records. This positon will be responsible for managing a team of payroll professionals and coordinating with various departments to ensure the smooth operation of the payroll process. Position Responsibilities:
· Overseeing end-to-end payroll functions, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
· Develop and maintains payroll policies and procedures that align with best practices, legal requirements, and company policies.
· Communicates payroll policies to employees and guides payroll-related inquiries or issues.
· Generates payroll reports, including earnings statements, tax summaries, and labor cost analysis.
· Leverage technology solutions that not only improve efficiency but also create an improved experience for CSI employees.
· Prepares periodic reports for management, HR, and accounting departments, providing insights into payroll expenses, trends, and compliance.
· Provides day-to-day support and issue resolution related to payroll inquiries, proactively communicating with impacted employees, managers and HR.
· Reviews and approves payroll calculations, including salaries, wages, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
· Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
· Maintains accurate payroll records, including employee data, tax withholdings, and benefits deductions.
· Monitors and ensures adherence to company policies and procedures related to payroll.
· Identifies and resolves discrepancies or errors to ensure accurate payroll processing.
· Oversees the accurate calculation and timely remittance of payroll taxes, including income tax withholdings, Social Security contributions, and other applicable deductions.
· Administers employee benefits programs, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and leave management.
· Prepares and distributes pay statements, reports, and related documents to employees.
· Addresses employee payroll-related queries and resolves any issues or discrepancies.
· Ensures compliance with wage and hour laws, overtime rules, and other payroll-related regulations.
· Supports internal and external audits related to payroll processes.
· Partner with internal functions (Finance, IT, HR) to identify and drive process improvements to ensure scalability as the business continues to grow.
· Supervises and guides the payroll team, including setting goals and objectives.
· Conducts performance evaluations, provides feedback, and identifies training needs.
· Fosters a collaborative and supportive work environment to promote team efficiency and effectiveness.
· Monitors and analyzes payroll metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
· Monitors escalations of employee inquiries and ensures that all inquiries are promptly and appropriately resolved.
· Safeguards employee data and ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations.
· Identifies opportunities to streamline payroll processes, enhance efficiency, and automate repetitive tasks.
· Aligns with CSI’s and clients’ diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Qualifications:
· 5 years’ experience in payroll or related positions required, international payroll preferred.
· Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), designation preferred
· Prior experience managing, coaching, and developing a payroll team.
· High degree of focus on providing an excellent employee experience.
· Comprehensive understanding of payroll and all state and federal regulations.
· Strong leadership and team management abilities.
· Comprehensive knowledge of payroll administration principles, processes, and best practices.
· Proficiency in payroll calculations, tax withholdings, benefits deductions, and payroll software/systems.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present financial analysis findings clearly and concisely.
· Experience with documentation of business process and gathering of business requirements
· Ability to work with all levels of leadership throughout the company in analyzing financial situations.
· Ability to maintain work priorities in an environment with multiple concurrent tasks and projects.
· Proficiency in using payroll software or systems to process payroll, generate reports, and perform payroll-related tasks.
· Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contract employees, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
· Familiarity with automated time and attendance systems, payroll integrations, and reporting tools. (Workday experience a plus.)
· Strong attention to detail while handling a large volume of documentation.
· Ability to ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with data privacy regulations.
· Strong analytical skills to review and analyze payroll data, identify trends, and interpret financial information.
· Ability to perform payroll audits, conduct data analysis, and provide insights and recommendations for process improvements.
· Excellent time management and organizational skills to manage multiple payroll tasks, meet deadlines, and prioritize workload effectively.
· Meticulous attention to detail to ensure with the ability to identify and rectify errors or discrepancies in payroll data.
· Ability to collaborate effectively with HR professionals, finance teams, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth payroll operations.
· Committed to ongoing professional development and continuous learning in the field of payroll administration.
· Upholding high ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality when handling sensitive payroll information
· Adhering to legal and ethical guidelines regarding employee compensation, tax compliance, and data privacy.
· Providing excellent customer service to employees by promptly addressing payroll inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring accurate and timely payment. Demonstrating a customer-centric approach in all payroll-related interactions.
