The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod is Hiring a Small Business Relationship Manager Near Hyannis, MA

Description

The Small Business Banking Relationship Manager develops and cultivates small business and consumer market share by locating, prospecting and securing client relationships. The Small Business Relationship Manager collaborates with multiple departments to identify and provide solutions to clients’ problems and needs. Forges strong relationships with clients to create future advocates and sources of referrals. 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develops a strategic market area business plan focused on increasing revenue, identifying areas for cross-serve, and building a reputation for being a trusted resource for small businesses
  • Identifies prospective clients through research, outreach, and community involvement
  • Aids clients in self-discovery on needs and solutions to help them meet their financial goals and aspirations
  • Strengthens relationships through utilization of Relationship Management Action Plans (RMAP’s) to assess clients current status and future growth needs
  • Works directly with the branch managers—small business specialists in the achievement of their goals and targets, and development of their small business lending portfolios
  • Collaborates across multiple departments to develop loan and deposit portfolios with the cross-sales of additional products and services to meet the financial needs and wants of the clients they serve
  • Continually builds and fosters the relationships with strategic contact via a communication plan to deliver on outcomes and ensure client satisfaction
  • Responds quickly and positively to clients outreach and concerns. Identifies the appropriate subject matter expert(s) to bring into the conversation to help meet clients’ growing needs
  • Advocates goodwill and corporate citizenship by attending local events to network and engage with community leaders and community at large. Participates in after-hour bank and Cape Cod community activities as needed
  • Executes and supports the Bank’s overall strategic plan and priorities
  • Performs all duties in accordance with prescribed compliance guidelines
  • Takes personal initiative and discipline in interactions and provides the examples for others to follow

Supervisory Scope

Works with influence to help educate the branch managers in their loan origination skills and understanding

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • BS/BSA degree level of education or its equivalent in retail banking experience, including related work and training
  • Five plus years of retail and sales experience with an emphasis in consultative sales and excellence in service
  • Knowledge of and experience with commercial credit underwriting 
  • Experience as a small business relationship manager or lender preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Office and banking related software
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality; with tact and diplomacy

Physical Requirements 

Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis

A degree of travel is required to cover an assigned territory. Must have a reliable means of transportation.
