The City of Asheville is Hiring a Project Manager Near Asheville, NC

Summary

About our opportunity:

The City of Asheville is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Project Manager in the Water Resources department at either a level 1, level 2, or level 3 depending on candidate qualifications..

This position would manage all aspects of water system capital improvement projects, support the department's waterline extension program by reviewing and approving water system extension design plans and processing project water allocation requests.

  • What you’ll be doing:
    • Managing the planning, design and construction of Water System Capital Improvement Projects, ensuring adherence to policies, regulations and best practices
    • Supporting development services waterline extension plan review process
    • Leading the Water Allocation Process
    • Performing Survey and Design for water system projects
    • General Customer Service and Department Support

About you:

  • What you Bring:

We know your time is valuable. Applicants who meet the following minimum requirements or have comparable experience and/or education will be considered:

Project Manager Level 1 - Will have up to 1 year of experience in project management or a related field and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Project / Construction Management from an accredited university; - or- 3 years of applicable project management experience and an Associates degree in Civil Engineering or Project / Construction management or Bachelor’s degree in related field.

Project Manager Level 2 - Will have 3 years of applicable experience in project management or a related field and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Project / Construction Management from an accredited university; - or- 5 years of applicable project management experience and a Bachelor’s degree in related field.

Project Manager Level 3 - Will hold a Professional Engineers License in NC or have the ability to receive reciprocity in NC within 6 months of hire and- 5 years of applicable project management experience or related field.

All Levels must have possession of a valid driver's license issued by the State of North Carolina or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire. A Project Management Professional (PMP) Certificate and an A Distribution Certificate is preferred

  • Position is Full Time 37.5 Hours per Week;

Typical Schedule is 5 days, Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

With option to work flexible 4 day per week schedule

  • Minimum Hiring Annual Salary per position level::

Project Manager I: $58,823.30

Project Manager II: $62,352.70

Project Manager III: $66,093.86
