Responsibilities

NV5 is seeking a full-time Sr. Project Manager - PLS in Asheville, NC or Western NC. The Survey Project Manager will manage all survey activities related to conventional, GPS and Laser Scanning surveys and be responsible for project management on all survey projects. The most frequent and essential work activities include:

  • Supervise western NC survey staff.
  • Assist Group Manager, Project Managers, Survey Technicians, and Survey Coordinators with directing the activities of Survey staff.
  • Monitor and improve upon production levels and staff utilization.
  • Participate in and support development of goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate training opportunities for staff.
  • Provide quality control and quality assurance on Survey deliverables.
  • Assume legal responsibility for work.
  • Maintain high level of customer service with existing client base.
  • Work with Survey Group Managers to achieve department goals.
  • Generate new business leads.
  • Assist with CAD mapping as needed (AutoCAD and Microstation).
  • Participate in professional and civic organizations.
  • Analyze activities, costs, operations and forecast date toward goal attainment.
  • Enforce company policies with respect to safety, protocol, and procedures.
  • Assist in the development of new procedures and technology.
  • Market all NV5 services to clients.
  • Support SUE and Utility coordination staff as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable work experience
  • NC Professional Licensed Surveyor
  • SC Professional Licensed Surveyor a plus
  • 5 years of previous management experience
  • Working knowledge and experience in AutoCAD and Microstation
  • NCDOT or SCDOT experience a plus
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license prior to employment

  • Work will primarily be in the office setting with limited opportunities to be exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

  • Must have visual acuity for viewing a computer screen, the ability to talk, hear and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Weekend and overtime work and/or overnight work and travel may be required.
  • Additional physical duties may be required as necessary.
