We are looking for a skilled Accounting or Payroll Specialist to perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and financial tasks. The responsibilities include keeping financial records updated, preparing reports and processing and recording payments including Accounts payable and receivable, payroll, expense vouchers and receipts. A strong knowledge of Excel is required for this position.

A successful accounting candidate should be familiar with all accounting procedures and have a aptitude for numbers. Our ideal Accounting Specialist will ensure that the company’s daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department
• Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
• Post payments daily with an eye for accuracy
• Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
• Provide assistance and support to Controller and Director
• Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
• Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas
• Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws
• Constantly update job knowledge

Skills

• Proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts Receivable clerk or Accounts Payable clerk or Payroll clerk
• Intermediate or Advanced Excel skill set
• Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
• Competency in MS Office and other softwares
• Ability to learn and comprehend industry specific software
• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Aptitude for numbers
• Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
• Data entry and word processing skills
• Well organized
• Associate’s degree or relevant certification is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
