Job Summary:
The Building Better Futures (BBF) program provides youth development services to more than 200 middle and high school students across 4 middle schools and 1 high school. The program provides comprehensive supports that include college and career readiness activities, youth workforce and externship opportunities, afterschool and camp programs, tutoring coordination, and other youth enrichment focused supports.
The Program Manager works with the Senior Director to design and implement BBF program components. The Manager will coordinate with partners, including ACPS staff, volunteers, and business points of contact, to ensure program components are implemented as intended. The Program Manager is instrumental in interfacing with other community-based organizations that provide services that would benefit students participating in the Building Better Futures program. With support from the Senior Director, the Program Manager will engage in efforts with the Development staff to inform strategies to secure funding support for the Building Better Futures program.
Essential Duties:
Program Leadership and Student Recruitment
· Ensures implementation of program components through collaborative planning efforts with both internal and external partners
· Maintains partnerships with teachers, administrators, and other youth serving organizations, in effort to integrate programing and enrichment activities into schools and partner sites
· Coordinates college tours, seminars, field trips, and youth focused social events
· Leads enrichment sessions with groups of youth
· Devises strategies to recruit and enroll students
· Coordinates wraparound services for youth enrolled in the program (college scholarships support, college essay/resume writing, tutoring, mental health services etc.)
· Recruits businesses and mentors to participate in externship program
· Collaborates with partners to ensure referrals for tutoring and other services are made
Youth, Family, Community Engagement
· Ensures that youth voice is embedded throughout program component areas
· Works cross-functionally with other out-of-school time (OST) managers to support youth matriculation between Campagna Center OST programs
· Works collaboratively with the Senior Director to develop youth and family engagement strategies
· Serves on planning workgroups, committees, and special initiatives with other OST managers within the division
· Assists the Senior Director in maintaining a visible presence in the community and in the field
Data Management, Administrative/Other
· Streamlines systems (i.e., registration) to maximize efficiency and enhance participant experience
· Ensures necessary program data is available to support grant reporting to relevant funders
· Analyzes participant and enrollment data for purposes of reporting, strategic recruiting, and long-term impact
· Works with Data Specialist to implement monitoring and program evaluation activities
· Provides necessary information to ensure website is current regarding program
· Works with Senior Director to ensure program budget is managed and all expenses fall within the approved budget
· Assists with other duties, as needed
Required Qualifications:
· Associates Degree in business, human services, education/child development, or related areas
· At least, two years’ prior experience successfully executing project management related responsibilities
· Tech-savvy as evidenced by past experience with online systems (databases, online evaluation tools)
· Excellent organizational and time management skills
· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
· Ability to communicate effectively including sensitivity for different audiences and cultural contexts
· Excellent writing, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
· Strong quantitative and analytical skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) software
· Strong interest in the mission and a willingness to live core values (ICARE: inclusive, compassionate, respectful and equitable)
Physical/Other Requirements:
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
· This position requires occasional work on nights and weekends
