Essential Functions: Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director for HR Data Operations and Payroll Systems, the incumbent will provide functional support for computer applications, the CHRS implementation project, and Human Resources Management (HRM) data management systems including PeopleSoft, Personnel/Payroll Information Management System (PIMS), and CalPERS. The incumbent will investigate existing technological systems, work with the HRM functional team to create high level functional design documents, system testing scripts, and training procedures on business processing standards. The incumbent will work with the University's technical and HRM functional teams to recommend enhancements in designing systems and process solutions to meet HRM business requirements. The incumbent will provide maintenance on database data integrity by analyzing data input requirements and validate data by generating and testing user reports; provide functional support for computer applications, CHRS implementation project, and Human Resources Management (HRM) data management systems; assist in applying processes and procedures from the CHRS position papers in preparation for CHRS implementation; develop queries and reports for data validation, testing, and analysis. Participate on project teams as appropriate to investigate existing technological systems to develop and implement new database system functionality; and develop business process guides. |
Required Qualifications & Experience: Experience in analyzing data and generating reports with query tools; researching business processes, developing process solutions, and updating business processes documentation; and in troubleshooting functional user database issues and computer application problems. The incumbent must have knowledge of investigating and documenting business processing procedures. The incumbent must have the ability to interpret, document, and communicate procedures and guidelines to train users on the usage of applications and reports; and to communicate clearly and effectively with technical and non-technical individuals within a culturally diverse environment. The incumbent must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the California State University. Desired Qualifications: Experience with PeopleSoft, PIMS, and CalPERS databases; SQL and query writing; and with Visual Basic and Macro development for Microsoft applications. Knowledge of human resources policies and procedures. |
