Essential Functions: Under the general supervision of the Interim Resource Manager, the ASC I will provide clerical and administrative support functions for the Dean's office in the College of Business and Economics. The incumbent will: coordinate the clerical and administrative support functions of the Dean's office; greet and answer visitor questions and refer guests, faculty, students and staff to appropriate offices; arrange meetings and special events; routinely deliver and pickup mail from locations across campus; track and reconcile financial data; draft memos and correspondences; supervise student assistants and student work schedules; independently work on a wide range of items in a timely and efficient manner; and interact with all levels of the university community. |
Required Qualifications & Experience: Three years of general office experience, which included providing ongoing work coordination or lead responsibilities with notable accountability for the work results of support staff or unit administrative function. Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures; expertise with Microsoft Word and Excel; excellent English written and verbal communication skills; and basic accounting skills. Ability to: perform standard business math, such as calculate ratios and percentages, track financial data, and make simple projections; make independent decisions and exercise sound judgement; effectively compile, write, and present reports; establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside a work group; apply independently a wide variety of policies and procedures where specific guidelines may not exist; analyze operational and procedural problems and develop, recommend, and evaluate proposed solutions; handle multiple work units, priorities, and projects; use office software packages, technology and systems; and use negotiation and persuasive skills to achieve results and expedite projects. The incumbent must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU.
