GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Performs routine (journey-level) consultative services, technical assistance, inventory and receiving work. Work involves transferring, sale and accounting of inventory. Performs mailroom operations to include opening, sorting, and distributing mail, making deposits. Work includes, and maintenance of agency pool vehicles. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (EJFs):
(30%) Serves as the back-up for the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) Property Manager.
(30%) Opens, date stamps, classifies, sorts, and distributes incoming agency mail; stamps and prepares mail-outs.
(25%) Serves as the liaison between agency, building management maintenance and Texas Facilities Commission (TFC) for property-related transactions.
(10%) Manages and submits Business Services division's records as needed to the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC).
(5%) Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in a field relevant to the assignment. Experience and education may be substituted for one another.
NOTE: Fifteen semester hours of college credit may substitute for six months experience.
And
One year (1) full-time experience in clerical, office experience, property accounting, inventory, or mail services.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws related to the program area; public administration techniques; training and marketing techniques; and program management processes and techniques.
Knowledge of postal classes, rates, and mailing procedures.
Knowledge of related software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Skilled in the use of a personal computer and related office equipment.
Skilled in the use of general office equipment.
Ability to maintain confidential information.
Ability to maintain working relationships with personnel of other divisions, agencies, and the public.
Must have a valid Texas Driver's License and a good driving record.
Ability to move mail parcels, office furniture and equipment up to 25 pounds.

This position functions in a standard office environment. Must be able to maintain a regular work schedule during normal business hours. Must be able to move about the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc. Must be able to travel 50% daily. Must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information via phone, email, Teams and in person. Must be able to perform repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation. Must be able to work with overlapping deadlines. Required to work as a team member, have direct customer contact, and work with sensitive and confidential information.MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALIST (MOS) CODE:
