Full job description:
The Medical assistant/Patient Roomer assists with clinical care activities within the practice to ensure a smoothly functioning clinical work flow and good patient relations. This position is responsible for assisting the providers and other clinical team with office schedules, entering data to assist with office visit notes upon patients arrival, and updating the patient’s chart with medications, vital signs, and allergies prior to seeing the provider. Essential Functions:
Brings arrived patients to the Clinical Check-In area according to the patient’s scheduled appointment time.
Requests and enters medication in EMR
Takes and records patient’s vital signs.
Obtains updated information from patient, such as recent hospitalizations, recent cardiac tests from other facilities, allergies/reactions and pharmacy name/location.
Ensures patient’s chart is updated with all pertinent information prior to their appointment.
Reviews patient’s orders tab to verify all orders exams or referral information is available for scheduled provider.
Assures all BP machines are charged
Performs tasks at the providers request.
Maintains and stocks the back-office area, samples closet and exam rooms.
Responsible for plugging in and powering off laptops at the end of each clinic day.
Assists with Clinical Check-In and Clinical Check Out during downtime.
Assists other back office departments with patients and back office assignments.
Maintains clean and clutter-free work area.

Ability to speak, read, and write in English ( Spanish additionally preferred)

Ability to hear, see, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, handle, lift, and carry
Proficient in Microsoft Suite
Punctual and great work ethic
1 year of experience as an MA or Surgical Technologist ( prefer ortho )
May lift up to 10 lbs
Utilize a multiline telephone system
Education And/or Experience:
A High School diploma or equivalent is required
A minimum of one (1) year of MA medical office experience is a must.
