Position Description: We are seeking a certified and experienced school-based physical therapist to join our team at a state school for children with special needs. The ideal candidate will have experience working with and evaluating sensory loss and medically complex students in a school setting. The primary responsibility of this position is to conduct an independent assessment of one student and provide detailed findings and recommendations.

Skills Required:

• Ability to communicate effectively in sign language or willingness to learn

• Proficiency in writing comprehensive reports and verbal communication

Skills Preferred:

• Knowledge of policies, procedures, and programs within the immediate work unit

• Familiarity with principles and practices of administration and management

• Understanding of agency or program rules, regulations, and operating procedures

• Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation

• Familiarity with federal and state statutes, policies, and procedures related to occupational therapy

Experience Required:

• Must possess a State of Arizona Physical Therapist License

• National Board of Physical Therapy Examiners Certified Occupational Therapist

• Ability to pass FBI and State background checks

• Completion of Defensive Driver Training Program if driving on State business

Experience Preferred:

• Two years of therapy experience

• Pediatric therapy experience

• Experience working with sensory impaired individuals

• Experience working with handicapped children

Education Required:

• Completion/Graduation from an Accredited Occupational Therapy Program

• AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card

• AHCCCS number for Medicaid billing within four months of hire
