Position Description: We are seeking a certified and experienced school-based physical therapist to join our team at a state school for children with special needs. The ideal candidate will have experience working with and evaluating sensory loss and medically complex students in a school setting. The primary responsibility of this position is to conduct an independent assessment of one student and provide detailed findings and recommendations.
Skills Required:
Ability to communicate effectively in sign language or willingness to learn
Proficiency in writing comprehensive reports and verbal communication
Skills Preferred:
Knowledge of policies, procedures, and programs within the immediate work unit
Familiarity with principles and practices of administration and management
Understanding of agency or program rules, regulations, and operating procedures
Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation
Familiarity with federal and state statutes, policies, and procedures related to occupational therapy
Experience Required:
Must possess a State of Arizona Physical Therapist License
National Board of Physical Therapy Examiners Certified Occupational Therapist
Ability to pass FBI and State background checks
Completion of Defensive Driver Training Program if driving on State business
Experience Preferred:
Two years of therapy experience
Pediatric therapy experience
Experience working with sensory impaired individuals
Experience working with handicapped children
Education Required:
Completion/Graduation from an Accredited Occupational Therapy Program
AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card
AHCCCS number for Medicaid billing within four months of hire
