Position Overview:

As the Controller, you will be a key member of our finance team, responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic financial guidance. Your expertise in real estate accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls will be critical to our success.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting and Compliance:

• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements for multiple entities within our real estate portfolio.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other relevant industry standards.
• Coordinate annual audits and tax filings.

Month-End Close and Internal Controls:

• Lead the month-end close process, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analysis.
• Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets and forecasts.
• Monitor actual performance against budgeted amounts, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.

Cash Flow Management:

• Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital requirements.
• Optimize cash management strategies to support operational needs.

Property Accounting:

• Oversee property accounting functions, including lease accounting, rent roll analysis, and property-level financial reporting.
• Work closely with property managers and asset managers to ensure accurate recording of property-related transactions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active CPA certification.
• Experience with Yardi or similar property management software.
• Familiarity with commercial real estate, investment management, or construction and development industries.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.

Experience:

• Minimum of 6 years of accounting experience in real estate.
• Proficiency in financial reporting, internal controls, and month-end processes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $160,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
