Position Overview:

Our company seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller with a strong background in construction and cost accounting to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of accounting principles and practices specific to the construction industry, including budgeting, and financial analysis. This role involves overseeing financial operations, improving accounting processes, and providing accurate financial information to support decision-making and ensure the financial health of our mining operations.

Key Responsibilities:

· Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, highlighting costs, revenues, and profitability.

· Analyze financial data to identify trends, forecast future costs, and assist with budget preparation and financial planning.

· Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial regulations specific to the construction and mining industry.

· Implement and maintain cost accounting systems and procedures to accurately track project costs, including labor, materials, equipment, and other expenses.

· Work closely with management to monitor budgets, identify variances, and recommend corrective action to manage costs effectively.

· Perform job cost analysis and provide detailed cost reports to assist with project management and profitability analysis.

· Oversee the billing process for our operations, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing according to contract terms.

· Manage revenue recognition, ensuring compliance with construction accounting standards and contractual agreements.

· Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.

· Continuously assess and improve accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

· Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements.

· Assist with tax planning and strategy to optimize tax liabilities and incentives related to operations.

· Lead and mentor junior accounting staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including management, procurement, and operations to support project execution and financial objectives.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. CFA or advanced degree preferred.

· Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on construction accounting and cost management.

· Proficient in accounting software and systems, with a preference for candidates who have experience with construction accounting software.

· Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of explaining complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

· Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements related to the construction and mining industries.
