SUMMARY:
The Technical Writer works closely with the Program Management Office (PMO) and task order facility operations and maintenance (O&M) personnel to create technical and coherent content for a variety of contract and task order deliverables. The Technical Writer develops, writes, formats, and edits material for reports, plans, briefs, presentations, and related technical and administrative documents. The Technical Writer gathers information, interviews PMO and task order O&M personnel, and conducts other research in order to convey contract and task order deliverables in a concise and effective manner. This position will also support PMO and task order operations by working with the PMO leadership and the task order Leads to develop content for the contract/task order as on-site operations and requirements dictate.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Supports the PMO team and task order O&M personnel in the development, preparation, and presentation of written content for multiple, time-sensitive contract/task order deliverables.
* Organizes material and completes writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
* Develops deliverable format, structure and content after collaborating with the PMO Program Manager, Operations Manager and task order Leads, and consulting applicable task order documentation for requirements.
* Composes, proof-reads, edits, and formats technical documentation to include operational procedures, plans, reports, schedules, and proposals.
* Reviews, edits and makes changes to material prepared by others to ensure the customer has a clear and concise understanding of the deliverable.
* Ensures the deliverable format, font size, graphics, and overall submittal is consistent with customer expectations and task order requirements.
* Reviews published materials and recommends revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of reproduction and binding.
* Edits and formats information through various media channels to include printed materials, email, websites, and other electronic access points.
* Participates in developing and maintaining complex Excel workbooks; including but not limited to writing complex formulas, creating pivot tables, and querying large datasets.
* Responsible for maintaining accurate and organized data within excel which supports contract deliverables.
* Actively contributes to the development of Power BI models by conducting reviews of source data, and creation of site dashboards and visuals.
* Selects appropriate graphics to illustrate material if required.
* Participates and leads content reviews and editing processes.
* Supports soft and hard copy production and distribution of deliverable documentation.
* Maintains records and files of work and revisions.
QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:
* BA degree in English, Journalism, Technical Writing, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, or related work experience.
* A minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated, recent experience writing/editing technical documentation and procedures in a facilities O&M environment.
* Track record of delivering well-organized and accurate work.
* Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
* Active SECRET clearance preferred.
* Possess a valid driver's license.
* Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio) and Adobe Acrobat.
* Basic with Power BI and Power Query.

* Work independently, as well as with a team, and demonstrate a good work ethic and communication (written and verbal) skills.
* Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize tasks using mature judgment, and work well with short-notice taskings, under high pressure situations, and deadlines.
* Self-motivated, detail-oriented, well organized, and have good time management skills.
* Flexible and adaptable to changing situations or requirements.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Essential functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for frequently bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged period of time; most of time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with the opportunity to move about. Occasionally, there may be a need to move or life moderately light items up to 35 pounds. Near visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone; manual dexterity to operate a telephone and keyboard; lift horizontally and vertically.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
