Job Description

Director of Accounting & Finance

Talaria offers secure transport services including cash and product transport, cash processing services, ATMs and change delivery services. We are a team that believes that transparency, communication, and customer service are the key to success. We currently operate nationally and partner with financial institutions. We are excited to be expanding at a rapid rate and are looking forward to expanding our team to continue to scale with us.

Job Summary

Our company is searching for a motivated and experienced Director of Accounting & Finance to lead our accounting and finance efforts. Our entire team is committed to offering industry-leading services we’re known for. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a Director level capacity, preferably in a role with a service model business.

Though this is a fully remote role, please note that the right candidate for this role will reside within 60 miles of Newtown Square, Pennsylvania.

Objectives of this Role

  • Financial Oversight: Directing all aspects of accounting operations, overseeing transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Strategic Planning: Analyzing financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs, and compliance with budgets. Offering strategic recommendations to the executive management team.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal tax filings and regulations. Staying updated with changes in financial regulations and legislation.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Developing and managing financial controls in accordance with company procedures. Creating forecasting models, managing the budget process, and conducting risk analysis.
  • Team Management: Leading, managing, and developing the accounting and finance team to ensure optimal performance.
  • Financial Reporting: Preparing detailed reports on financial performance, presenting these reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members.
  • Internal Controls: Implementing and overseeing internal controls to prevent inaccuracies in financial statements. Reviewing existing processes to improve efficiency.
  • Business Development: Assisting in business model analysis and developing strategies to enhance profitability and efficiency.
  • Liaison Role: Acting as a liaison between the company and external parties such as banks, investors, auditors, and regulatory bodies.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Educational Background
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) certification highly desirable.
  • Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting and finance, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and developing internal financial controls.
  • Previous experience in public accounting or finance within the industry pertinent to your company is a plus.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong proficiency in financial software and accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial regulations.
  • Leadership and Management Skills:
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop high-performing teams.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills to handle complex projects and multiple priorities.
  • Experience in change management and driving process improvements across financial operations.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial personnel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to senior management and board members.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills:
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to provide insightful recommendations.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities to address financial and operational challenges.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Knowledge:
  • Up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and federal tax filings and regulations.
  • Understanding of compliance requirements within a specific industry, if applicable.
  • Ethical Judgment and Professionalism:
  • High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to ethical practice.
  • Discretion and the ability to handle confidential information.

Compensation

Full-time role. $130k annually based on experience.
