Responsibilities
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during dental procedures
- Knowledge of dental assisting techniques
- Implement aseptic techniques and ensure infection control protocols are followed
- Utilize communication skills to interact with patients and explain procedures
- Familiarity with EMR systems and ability to input patient information accurately
- Assist with X-rays and other medical imaging procedures
- Maintain patient records and ensure proper documentation
- Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow
Qualifications
- Chairside assisting experience
- Proficiency in dental terminology
- Strong dental assisting skills
- OSHA knowledge
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
- Experience with Open Dental or Dentrix
- Ability to perform dental receptionist duties
- Competency in taking vital signs
- Experience with patient assessment and medical documentation
- Ability to work with CAD software
- Experience with scanning with iTero
