Growing Smiles Pediatric Dentistry is looking for dental assistant(s) to be apart of our growing team! If you love fighting sugar bugs, teaching kids about good choices, and appreciate the chaos and fun that goes along with being a kid, then we want to hear from you!
We provide the highest quality and most compassionate dental care to our patients from infancy through adolescence, including those with special healthcare needs. Our pediatric dentists are board certified and affiliated with Lurie Children’s Hospital.
Ideal candidate: -Coronal polish certification- strongly preferred -Previous dental assisting experience- 1 year preferred -Remains calm and tactful amid a fast- paced work environment -Promotes positive teamwork and cohesiveness between the staff -Has strong time management skills and is comfortable multi-tasking -Has strong passion for working with children and ensuring a positive dental experience
Responsibilities: -Assist the pediatric dentist during dental procedures, helping to create a reassuring environment for children and adolescents. -Prepare treatment areas, ensuring they are clean and properly equipped for procedures. -Greet young patients and their families, helping them feel at ease and explaining dental procedures in an approachable manner. -Take digital X-rays and manage dental images while adhering to safety guidelines. -Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment plans and progress notes. -Educate parents on proper oral hygiene practices and provide guidance on dental care for children.
Qualifications: -Coronal polish certification- strongly preferred -Previous dental assisting experience- 1 year preferred -High school diploma or equivalent -Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments -Proficiency in digital X-ray techniques and dental software- Eaglesoft preferred

Overview:

- Experience with medical imaging and interpreting x-rays
- Ability to take accurate vital signs and perform patient assessments
