Job Title: Sushi Helper Company: Sumo Sushi, Bonney Lake

Job Responsibilities:

Assisting Sushi Chefs:Collaborate with our experienced Sushi Chefs in the preparation of high-quality sushi dishes.
Assist in cutting, slicing, and preparing various types of fish, seafood, and vegetables.
Properly handle and store ingredients to ensure freshness and safety.

Sushi Bar Setup and Maintenance:Set up the sushi bar area before opening, ensuring all necessary tools and equipment are ready for service.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi bar throughout the shift.
Ensure all utensils, cutting boards, and equipment are properly sanitized and follow food safety regulations.

Food Presentation and Plating:Assist in the artistic presentation and beautiful plating of sushi dishes.
Follow standardized recipes and presentation guidelines to maintain consistency.

Customer Service:Provide friendly and attentive customer service, answering customer questions about the menu.
Address customer inquiries or concerns with professionalism and a positive attitude.

Inventory and Stock Management:Keep track of inventory levels for sushi ingredients and inform the management team of any restocking needs.
Assist in receiving and inspecting deliveries to ensure the quality and freshness of ingredients.

Cleanliness and Hygiene:Adhere to strict hygiene and sanitation standards, including proper handwashing and wearing appropriate protective gear.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the sushi bar and food preparation stations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a sushi restaurant or similar food preparation environment is preferred but not required.
• Passion for sushi and a willingness to learn and improve sushi-making skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the restaurant's operation.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
