Overview

Summit Materials is looking for an HR Representative to be a key member of the HR Operations team. This is a centralized role with data entry responsibility and assists with employee onboarding. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a sense of urgency, attention to detail, and timely and accurate follow-through. Understand the nature of the repetition of the work and create efficiencies in processing. Must maintain confidentiality and protection of sensitive records and data.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Complete employee data entry and maintenance within the HCM system – new hires, transfers, promotions, terminations, etc.
• Assist with the new hire on-boarding process
• Provide support and guidance to managers and employees on HR policies and practices
• Prepare employee activity volume reports
• Supports the implementation of new HR tools and systems
• Other HR-related duties as assigned

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Human Resources
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
• Ability to comprehend, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, and policies
• Must be a team player & able to work collaboratively and effectively with HR and other functions of the organization on cross-company initiatives
• Can-do attitude and passion for new processes and solutions
• Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty and ambiguity
• Able to manage multiple issues, prioritize, and problem solve
• Proficient Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access) or related software
• Strong internal and external communicator verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and customer service skills; organizational skills and attention to detail
