Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Plant Maintenance Worker to join our team. As a Plant Maintenance Worker, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our plant facilities. Your primary objective will be to perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot and repair equipment, and assist in the overall upkeep of the plant. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine inspections and maintenance on plant equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and adherence to safety standards.
Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostic tests to identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues in a timely manner.
Repair or replace defective components, parts, or systems, such as motors, pumps, valves, belts, bearings, and filters.
Collaborate with the maintenance team to develop and implement preventive maintenance plans and schedules.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment repairs, and inventory of spare parts and supplies.
Operate hand and power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized machinery to complete maintenance tasks.
Assist in the installation, modification, and relocation of plant equipment and systems as required.
Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Conduct periodic inspections of safety systems and equipment, such as fire suppression systems, emergency exits, and personal protective equipment.
Collaborate with plant operators and other staff to identify and address equipment performance issues and recommend improvements.
Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in plant maintenance techniques and technologies.
Assist in training and mentoring new maintenance personnel as needed.
Adhere to company policies, procedures, and standards, including quality control guidelines.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in plant maintenance or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience in plant maintenance, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in using hand and power tools.
Knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, welding, and HVAC systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Solid understanding of safety regulations and best practices.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Effective time management and organizational skills.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
