Salary Range $80,000 - $85,000
The purpose of the DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES is to ensure the efficient administration and management of all human resources functions including:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage the recruitment process inclusive of posting and updating career opportunities; screening resumes and candidates; scheduling interviews with leaders and
department heads; administering pre-employment paperwork; conducting reference and background checks; extending offer to all final candidates.
  • Interview and assess candidates based on needs defined by department hiring managers.
  • Attend recruitment functions such as job fairs, career days, and other events to source candidates.
  • Create legally compliant programs that increase employee engagement or morale.
  • Train management on relevant managerial topics and associates on recommended training topics.
  • Partner with multiple department managers to understand HR needs and develop long term solutions.
  • Work with corporate human resources office on improving and enhancing standard operating procedures.
  • Handle administration of new hire process, paperwork, and enter in HRIS.
  • Address and respond to associate inquiries and issues immediately by tracking them and informing the General Manager.
  • Addresses and resolves employee relations issues, involving corporate human resources when necessary.
  • Advise department managers on employee matters.
  • Place employment ads on various websites requested.
  • Monitor worker’s compensation claims, in conjunction with corporate risk department.
  • Maintain and update bulletin boards in all associate areas and HR bulletin board.
  • This position has a dotted line responsibility to the Vice President of Human Resources.
  • Maintains regular attendance and is consistently on time.
  • Maintains high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include compliance with the dress code.
  • Performs any other duties as requested by supervisor.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be experienced with sexual harassment and wage & hour training and compliance.
  • Responsible for staying abreast of labor laws and ensuring best practices.
Qualifications
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence
  • Must be able to keep information confidential.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Proficient in HRIS systems (SAP ERP 6.0), time keeping systems (Kronos) and Applicant Tracking and Onboarding systems (Taleo TBE)
  • Proficient at MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Hospitality experience preferred
  • PHR certification preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment normally entails the following:
  • Indoor work environment
  • Minimal to moderate noise levels consistent with hotel environment

During the course of performing the physical demands of this position, associates are expected to observe and adhere to safety and security procedures, promoting a safe work environment.
The physical activity normally entails typical office and hotel environment.
  • Sit more than 2/3 of the time.
