Stockpile is Hiring a Remote Project Manager (Technical)

With a deep understanding of the software development process and its technologies, the ideal project manager will build an agile culture that leads to developing self-organized, autonomous teams working together to gain efficiency in the product delivery process.Collaborating closely with the development team, QA, product management, and program management, the technical project manager will help prioritize and facilitate the release process. Ensuring the projects are completed as planned by tracking the necessary metrics (time, workforce, and costs) to monitor the efficiency of the delivery process.

Responsibilities

  • Determine and define project scope and objectives
  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
  • Provide project updates consistently to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
  • Prepare a budget based on the scope of work and resource requirements and efficiently track them 
  • If vendors and outside suppliers are necessary for the project, manage contracts by assigning tasks and communicating expected skills and deliverables
  • Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
  • Organize and facilitate daily stand-up meetings, grooming, sprint, and release planning, demos, retrospective, and other Scrum-related meetings
  • Create necessary tools and uphold best practices in all scrum cadences
  • Track and communicate team velocity and sprint/release progress
  • Ensure the product and development teams are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability
  • Recommend improvements and assist in changes to leading practices
  • Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information Identify and remove impediments, prevent distractions that interfere with the ability of the team to deliver the sprint goalFacilitate discussions and conflict resolution
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout the entire project executionMaintain process documentation
  • Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed
  • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • 5 years’ experience and strong knowledge of Waterfall, Iterative, and Agile delivery methodologies
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience with software development project life cycles and understanding of software development skills
  • Experience with Kanban and/or Scrum methodologies
  • Knowledge and experience working with front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML5, Angular.js or React.js
  • Familiarity with back-end technologies such as Java, Python or Node.jsExpert in using Jira and Confluence
  • A strategic thinker and excellent facilitator, must be an outstanding team leader with the ability to influence and negotiate
  • Experience working with agile methodology on startup environment that includes the ability to coach and lead teams new to Agile
  • Experience with communicating status and providing updates to executives
  • Exceptional communication, organization, interpersonal, and time management skills
  • Self-motivated, as well as creative and efficient in proposing solutions to complex, time-critical problems
  • Collaborative in driving decisions and able to deal with all levels of management and stakeholders

$80,000 - $100,000 a year
