Steerbridge Strategies is Hiring a Proposal Manager Near Vienna, VA

POSITION OVERVIEW

SteerBridge seeks a highly motivated, detail-oriented talented Proposal Manager/Writer who can help us secure government contracts by developing winning proposals that showcase our capabilities and align with the unique requirements of each opportunity.

As Proposal Manager, you will play a pivotal role in our business development efforts. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including subject matter experts, business development professionals, and technical staff, to develop comprehensive proposals that address the needs and objectives of government agencies. Your expertise in project management, persuasive writing, and attention to detail will be critical in creating compelling proposals that differentiate us from our competitors.

REQUIRED

· Must be a U.S. Citizen.

· An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one is required.

· Must be local to the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area.

EDUCATION & YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor’s Degree. Preferred majors: English, Writing, Journalism, Marketing, Communications or a related field.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the Government Contracting space as a federal proposal manager preferably in the acquisition for information technology services, to include:

· Must have full Proposal Management experience including developing the schedule, coordinating with various team members, responding to questions, checking the government portals for solicitation updates, etc.

· Experience with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and government contracting processes.

· Breaking down RFP requirements, developing winning themes, and managing the effort in partnership with the proposal team and business partners.

· Developing proposals from small, quick response task order opportunities under IDIQ contracts to large(>$50M) competitive proposals, in customers ranging from Fed/Civil to DoD to commercial.

· Proven experience with the proposal process in a fast-paced, deadline-driven proposal writing environment on moderate- to high-complexity federal opportunities.

· Demonstrated ability to use standard English writing styles to write proposal sections; this includes editing skills, excellent knowledge of grammar and punctuation, information research and synthesis from multiple sources (subject matter experts, previous proposals) into a cohesive, easy-to-read, and persuasive final product.

· Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in the MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project), Adobe Acrobat, and SharePoint.

· Ability to adapt to a multi culture team and work under tight deadlines.

· Possess excellent leadership, communication, prioritization, and organizational skills.

· Experience interviewing subject matter experts to support the proposal writing process.

· An analytical mindset and strong coordination skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Proposal Planning:

o Collaborate with internal teams to understand proposal requirements.

o Develop proposal plan with milestones, deadlines, and responsibilities.

o Determine win themes and strategies.

· Research and Content Gathering:

o Gather information about client, project, or opportunity.

o Collect relevant data, statistics, and case studies.

o Collaborate with subject matter experts for technical insights.

· Proposal Writing:

o Write and edit proposal content for clarity and persuasiveness.

o Tailor proposal to meet client or funding agency requirements.

o Craft compelling executive summaries, introductions, and conclusions.

· Proposal Coordination:

o Coordinate cross-functional teams involved in proposal development.

o Manage timeline and deadlines.

o Conduct regular meetings and status updates.

· Compliance and Quality Assurance:

o Ensure proposal complies with RFP or solicitation document.

o Perform quality assurance checks for errors and inconsistencies.

o Review proposal against evaluation criteria.

· Graphics and Visuals:

o Work with graphic designers or create visuals to enhance proposal.

o Ensure graphics are clear, relevant, and support key messages.

· Proposal Submission:

o Prepare final proposal document for submission.

o Coordinate delivery to client or funding agency by deadline.

· Post-Submission Activities:

o Respond to clarification requests or inquiries.

o Debrief proposal team to gather feedback and lessons learned.

Candidates must bring demonstrated experience in:

· Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

· Proven ability to conceptualize and write compelling, proposal narrative.

· Inspirational team player who can successfully collaborate with other team members.

COMPENSATION

A salary commensurate with experience will be offered.

SteerBridge salaries depend on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to the contract budget, role, skill set and level of experience.
