Job Responsibilities

Who We Are:
Orangeburg Area Mental Health Center is part of the South Carolina Department of Mental Health. Orangeburg Area Mental Health Center/OAMHC provides mental health services to individuals in Orangeburg, Calhoun, Bamberg and Holly Hill Counties.
Under the Supervision of the OAMHC Chief of Staff, assists with the areas of quality assurance CARF and medical records needs
1. Assistant for the Office of Quality Management and CARF Coordinator. At least quarterly, provide statistical data for quality assurance quarterly audit. Will assist with policy and procedure books as well as updates for CARF manuals. Assist with preparing handouts for new staff orientation and credentialing of new employees.

2. Prepare and create appropriate forms and PowerPoints and monitor various components of QA program and CARF. Responsible for coordinating CARF meetings with center staff, sending emails relating to training, dispersing handouts and appropriate forms, and ensuring that training hours are placed on staff transcripts.
3. Create spreadsheets for various reports and functions, assist with processing paybacks, prepare schedule of QA activities, and assist with QA audit process. Responsible for sending emails on behalf of Quality Assurance (includes Cooperate Compliance & Credentialing). Responsible for maintaining QA manuals and updating as necessary. Maintain and update DHHS Bulletin Notebook as required.
4. Will act as back-up to Medical Records and other related duties as required as well as other QA/Compliance duties as necessary.
Minimum and Additional Requirements

State : A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of the principles, policies and practices of clerical duties. Ability to effectively plan and organize work activities and prioritize task completion according to schedules and goals. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to deal courteously and effectively with the public. Ability to exercise judgement and discretion in interpreting and applying policies and procedures.
Must be comfortable and effective working in a professional office environment. Must understand and address the needs of external and internal customers of the Center. Must have a positive attitude and treat all consumers, staff, supervisors, and surrounding community with dignity and respect at all times. Must possess a current, valid state motor vehicle operator license.
