Job Location: This position will be located at 101 N Chestnut St., Jefferson City MO 65101.

The Laboratory Support Assistant position will be working with our Central Accessioning unit in a variety of duties such as accessioning specimens, delivering and preparing specimens for testing, and many other support duties.

• Utilize OpenELIS to quick enter specimen tests and samples submitted to the laboratory
• Sorting, scan and opening courier packages
• Verifying specimen acceptability, quick entering specimens in LIMS
• Work closely with laboratorians to improve turnaround times, or assist in laboratory production
• Have a working knowledge and understanding of Federal HIPAA requirements
• Work with Post Analytical Reporting Team (PART) to scan paper test request forms to the various LIMS or storage software and quality review the scanned images
• Work with Central Services staff on assembling sample test kits, assuring the integrity of the materials for delivery refurbishing sample test kit components, building sample test kits, and processing and distributing mail throughout laboratory spaces
• Travel will be required with possible overnight stays and overtime.

• High school diploma or equivalent and 0-1 years of relevant experience
