State of Missouri is Hiring a Financial Services Administrator Near Jefferson, MO

Job Location: Central Office, 105 West Capitol Avenue, Jefferson City, MO

Why you’ll love this position:

The financial services administrator is responsible for the completion of complex special projects involving a high degree of financial management or systems expertise including administration of multiple data marts. Responsibilities are performed under general supervision.

What you’ll do:

  • Performs supervisory responsibilities in a manner consistent with the department's Affirmative Action Program; provides technical expertise and responds to complex questions received from management, staff, and department employees.
  • Manages the development of the appropriation requests, budget allocations, and provides related information for use by executive leadership regarding budget information; and manages the development of the financial forecast which entails projecting revenues and expenditures for the department.
  • Manages operations relating to financial accounting and reporting by ensuring financial statements are prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP) and as prescribed by the Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB), leading internal and external audits, conducting inventory of consumable/fixed assets, and other financial related duties.
  • Develops financial policies and procedures including research/analysis of applicable laws, rules, regulations, and accounting standards.

All you need for success:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree: Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Eight years of experience in positions demonstrating a knowledge and application of financial laws and regulations, general accounting principles, financing agreements, or systems architecture including data mart administration, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance procedures.

Special Working Conditions:

  • Job requires occasional, statewide, overnight travel.
